Yankees. Barf.

All other things being equal, a team that has twice as much as money (a.k.a. resources) is going to have a ridiculous, unfair advantage. Yeah yeah, i know life ain’t fair – we ain’t talkin’ about life – we’re talking about a game. A game played in a league – you know, with other teams in other cities. Yeah yeah, the Yankees don’t win all the time. However, they do have more championships than any other franchise in North American professional sports (not just baseball) history. And I said “all other things being equal” and having dumb manager/owner wasting their money doesn’t qualify as being equal to other more competent allocators of resources found in the MLB. Do I expect everyone to spend exactly the same amount, no. But a 5:1 ratio between the richest and poorest and almost a 2:1 ratio between the #1 & #7 who manage to make it to the final game is silly [cite: http://baseball.about.com/od/newsrumors/a/09teamsalaries.htm]. If you can’t see how this degree of resource disparity is bad for the game, you’re probably just too blinded by your selfish and weak-minded desire to be apart of a winning team (with a healthy side of stupid maybe).
On a related note, if you are either a Lakers or Yankees fan and didn’t grow up there or spend a substantial part of your life in LA/NYC during a formative period in your life (childhood/college), please take note of my name: Jinyoung Kim. If I meet you, please don’t waste my time, turn around and go bore someone else.
